How to travel to Santo André

Guarulhos international airport to Hotel Plaza Mayor

Option 1: by Uber (or taxi): best option

Uber from the airport to the hotel costs around BRL80-120. We recommend taking a taxi or Uber (see map below).

Option 2: by public transport

Alternatively, there is an option by public transport (bus+metro+train). We do not recommend this alternative, but we give some instructions in case someone prefers this option:

1. Take EMTU Bus 257 from Guarulhos International Airport and get off after 22 stops at the Tatuapé Norte Metro Terminal, itinerary at http://emtu.sp.gov.br/sistemas/linha/resultado_imp.htm?numlinha= 40764
2. Cross to the Tatuapé Terminal and take subway line 11 (coral) or line 12 (sapphire) and get off at Brás do Metrô station.
3. At Brás station, transfer from the subway to the 710 service train line.
4. Take the CPTM train from Service 710 (Rio Grande da Serra - Jundiaí) towards Rio Grande da Serra and get off at Prefeito Celso Daniel station in Santo André. Schedules are on the link: https://www.cptm.sp.gov.br/sua-viagem/Documents/S710.pdf
5. From the station, walk to Rua Itambé, 16 and take one of the following bus lines, I02, I04, I05, T17, T28 going down, after 4 stops at Rua Coronel Alfredo Paquer 118.
6. From the stop to the Hotel, it's another 3 minutes on foot.

Alternatively, there is an option by public transport (bus+metro+train). We do not recommend this alternative, but we give some instructions in case someone prefers this option:

1. Bus 5630-10 (Metrô Brás) at Av. Washington Luiz, 6718 and get off after 20 stops at Rua Prudente de Morais.
2. Walk about 5 to 9 until Brás Station.
3. Follow steps 3,4,5 from the instructions from Guarulhos airport above.

Hotel Plaza Mayor to UFABC:

Accommodation

Apart from the breakfast buffet, they offer wireless internet, business center, free use of their leisure area, gym and games room.

It is about a 30 minutes walk from the UFABC, but we will most probably be able to use a university van to bring us there in the morning and back in the late afternoon (to be confirmed).

The Plaza Mayor is close to the city centre and to the Rua das Figueiras, a street with a share of bars, where we can have dinner and continue discussions started during the day.

We strongly recommend staying in this hotel, which will make it easier to get to the UFABC and back together, and interact outside conference hours.

Staying in a double room is much cheaper per person than in a single room. We encourage you to find a roommate, as most of you have agreed to share a room.
