Precision Spectroscopy: From the First stars to exoplanets

10-11 September 2018, São Paulo, Brazil

Stellar spectroscopy allows to extract a wealth of information about stars (e.g., effective temperatures, chemical composition, magnetic activity, rotation, binary or planet companions). Those observables are important for studies of the stars themselves (e.g., the decay of stellar rotation with age), but are also relevant for other areas such as the planet-star connection and Galactic chemical evolution.
The aim of this workshop is to discuss recent progress on Precision Spectroscopy and its application to Galactic Chemical Evolution, Stellar Astrophysics and Exoplanets. As in previous workshops organized by the group SAMPA, we will have a small number of participants, providing an environment that fosters stimulating interactions among attendees. The workshop will be held at the Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil. Applications will be received until August 29, 2018 (Wednesday). The outcome will be released by August 31, 2018 (Friday). Successful applicants will be required to pay a small registration fee (20 euros for participants from abroad, and 20 reais for local participants).
Albeit financial aid is not available, in the application form you can apply for an exemption of the registration fee.
