Transportation from the International Guarulhos (GRU) Airport.

Most international flights arrive at Terminal 3. After Passport Control (Policia Federal) get your luggage and proceed to the exit near the Duty Free. As you leave the restricted area after the Duty Free in Terminal 3, you will see a money exchange office (Banco Safra) and the exit of the airport's arrival area (see picture below).

If you turn right after the exit door of the arrival area, you can see the official taxi 'Guarucoop', as shown in the picture below. The official taxi Guarucoop is the easiest (and hassle-free) way to get to the city. The official taxis are reliable, safe and more convenient, but more expensive, with a fixed price of about R$150 (~34 euros) to the Av. Paulista (the region near the venue of the workshop). You inform your address and pay in advance at the Guarucoop kiosk (also available at Terminal 2). Credit cards are accepted . The attendants should speak English, but just in case write down the address of your destination.

There are comfortable shuttle buses (Airport Bus Service) to the Av. Paulista and other regions of São Paulo; cost equivalent to about 9 - 12 euros (39 - 52 reais). There is only about 1 bus per hour. In principle, you could buy the ticket directly with the driver.

There is a cheaper public bus #257 (~6.5 reais, or ~1.5 euros, paid directly to the driver) to Metro Station Tatuapé ('linha vermelha', red line), but this option is not recommended if you are not familiar with local transportation in São Paulo, and specially if you have luggage, as a transfer to another metro line is likely needed, and the red line is usually heavily crowded. You can find the public bus #257 after exiting the terminal 3 (after the 'Uber' lane; see below).

In case you feel adventurous and took the bus #257, find below how to proceed once you arrive to the Tatuapé terminal, to buy your ticket and enter the Metro Station Tatuapé.

Uber should cost about 15 euros; you can meet the driver nearby the Uber totens outside the arrival areas of Terminal 2 and 3 of the Guarulhos airport (see picture below). There is free wifi at the GRU airport, but the signal may be weak at the Uber totem, as it is outside the building. Sometimes the Uber driver may call you, to confirm your pick up location.

Local Transportation.

The Mackenzie campus is near the 'Higienópolis-Mackenzie' metro station from the yellow line ('linha amarela'), that has connections with the red ('vermelha'), blue ('azul') and green ('verde') lines. Also, there are frequent buses running through Rua da Consolação. For example, Av. Paulista is only 3 bus stops away from Mackenzie. The bus or metro fare is R$4.30 (about 1 euro). Unfortunately obtaining a 'bilhete único' (a bus/metro card) is not longer possible for non-local residents, but you can pay in cash inside the bus, and for the metro you can buy single tickets (buy a few at once, as there may be lines to buy them).
