Título/Title: Multi Scale Analysis of Magnetic Fields in Filamentary Molecular Cloud

Resumo/Abstract:

Together with other observational methods, linear visible and near infra-red (NIR) polarimetry can help to understand the morphology of magnetic fields in the neighborhood of several star-forming regions. Inside the denser parts of molecular clouds, this morphology can be deduced with the help of submillimeter (submm) polarimetry but rarely in the same parts of clouds than with visible and NIR polarimetry. This work presents a multi-scale analysis and shows how it can lead to a better understanding of the role played by magnetic fields in the Globular Filament region GF9 and in the Orion Molecular Clouds (OMCs) in the Orion A region. New linear polarimetry was obtained and previous results compiled at several wavelengths, visible, NIR and submm are compared to each other. Conclusions of the comparisons can be summarized as follows: There is no evidence for turbulence in the observed regions. The multi-scale analysis suggests that the magnetic field morphology is significantly affected on spatial scales similar to those of the cores.
