In this talk I will present an overview and an update of my research on Planetary Nebulae (PNe) and White Dwarfs (WDs). I will discuss the current status of our 3D modeling campaign of PNe and the determination of their distances as well as recent work on WDs, their physical properties as determined through models, and luminosity functions determined from large available samples.
