Título/Title: The astrophysical context of the formation of the Sun

Resumo/Abstract:

There is now a wide consensus that the Sun was born in an OB association, perhaps like Orion, along with a few thousand “cousins”. Recent work on solar-sytem meteorites and on X-rays from star-forming regions have shed a new light on burning questions, like the possible presence of a supernova at the birth of the Sun, or the influence of stellar activity and stellar winds in its pre-main sequence phases. I will review the current agreements and controversies about these questions.
