Título/Title: Planetary Nebulae in the Local Group
Resumo/Abstract:
| I will present and
discuss the results of several narrow-band imaging surveys aimed at searching
for planetary nebulae in galaxies of the Local Group, including our own
galaxy. In particular, two programmes, both carried out at the 2.5m Isaac
Newton Telescope at La Palma, will be discussed in some detail: the ongoing
imaging survey of the Galactic plane (IPHAS) and the so-called Local Group
Census, a search for emission-line objects in the Northern galaxies of the
Local Group. The relevance of the study of extragalactic planetary nebulae and some possible goals for large telescopes will be also discussed. |
