Precision Spectroscopy
Stellar connections: from Galaxy evolution to exoplanets
1-3 February, 2021 - São Paulo, Brazil (virtual meeting)
In the sixth Precision Spectroscopy, we will discuss a wide variety of relevant topics to our group SAMPA (Stellar Atmospheres, Planets and Abundances) on theoretical and observational astrophysics from our galaxy to exoplanets. We will include expert talks on abundance determinations in Galactic spectroscopic surveys (Katia Cunha), 3D+NLTE effects on lithium abundances (Ella Xi Wang), the Sun as a Star (Antonino Lanza), the power of asteroseismology (Saskia Hekker), exoplanet atmospheres (Mark Swain) and high-energy emissions and their interaction with planetary atmospheres (Sarah Rugheimer).
The workshop will take place February 1-3, 2021. For the first time, and due to the new coronavirus pandemic, we have adopted a virtual format that allows for general discussions of this year on Precision Spectroscopy proposed topics. Registration is required.
Sessions will happen via a Zoom webinar. These sessions will be about 2 - 2.5 hours long, in the morning and afternoon (São Paulo time, which is a good compromise for our attendees from different time zones).
All Q&As will take place using the chair session to moderate questions from the chat.
Keynote speakers
Stellar Astrophysics
The Sun as a lighthouse to stellar astrophysics
Exoplanets
Star-planet connection
Registration deadline: January 9, 2021 (Saturday). Results will be announced a few days later.
> All participants are required to abide by the Precision Spectroscopy (following IAU) code of conduct during this online workshop. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________
