Meeting abstract

The BTFI (Brazilian Tunable Filter imager) is a tunable optical imager designed to supply tunable filter imaging with a field-of-view of 3 arcminutes on a side, sampled at 0.12” for direct Nasmyth seeing-limited area spectroscopy and for SAM’s visitor instrument port for Ground layer adaptive optics, i.e., SAM-fed area spectroscopy.

The instrument has two optical channels which allow for the simultaneous recording of the narrow-band image and the remaining (complementary) broad-band light. Alternatively the two channels can be used for symultaneous Fabry-Perot and broad-band imaging.

BTFI is at the moment capable to achieve spectral resolutions of 1900, 4500 and 20000. In the future it should reach resolutions from 25-2400 and 6000-30000, when it is fully comissioned.

The workshop on Interacting Systems is a group meeting organized by IAG and Universidad de La Serena and it is funded by the Research Center Labcosmos. The "Science with BTFI meeting" happens in the context of LabCosmos and it is mostly funded by INCT-A.
